My Baseball Betting History

I’m relatively new to sports betting, but I’ve been a baseball fan since my grandpa took me to my first ball game. It wasn’t a Hollywood-like story, with my home team pulling a hard win on a sunny day and my little hand grasping the home-run ball that gave them the win. I’m pretty sure it was raining, the team lost and I fell asleep halfway through the game, only to be rudely awaken by boos and whistling to the coach. But I was hooked. I collected stickers, posters and every piece of merchandise from my home team I could get my hands on.

It never occurred to me that I could make money out of gambling. But it dawned on me halfway through a match I was watching with some friends on television. When we were talking about bookies and betting, which I claimed to loathe because of the illegal aspect of it, one of my friends said “you should bet on baseball online”. I honestly didn’t know that was a possibility, but now I am hooked to it.

I find that the knowledge I have of my team’s roster and the almost religious following of all news items and sources related to the team is what gives me an edge on betting. My greatest downfall? Wishful thinking. But I’m working on it. Truth is, I don’t beat heavily, just to make things interesting and to challenge myself to analyze all the data I have, and because it’s fun.
